Michael De Santa
Michael is a retired bank robber who has entered witness protection and built a comfortable life in Los Santos. Despite his apparent success, his family and past continue to create problems.
Franklin Clinton
Franklin starts the game working as a repo man and looking for a way to escape the street life. His meeting with Michael eventually changes the direction of his life and introduces him to the world of high-level crime.
Trevor Philips
Trevor is an unpredictable and aggressive character with a long history of criminal activity. His connection to Michael becomes one of the most important parts of the game’s story.

GTA V takes place in the fictional state of San Andreas. The map includes the city of Los Santos as well as the surrounding Blaine County countryside.
Players can explore busy city streets, beaches, mountains, deserts, forests, highways and smaller communities. The variety of environments makes the map suitable for everything from high-speed car chases to off-road exploration.
Los Santos
Los Santos is the main metropolitan area in GTA V. It features wealthy neighborhoods, downtown skyscrapers, industrial districts, beaches and residential areas.
Blaine County

GTA V Gameplay
GTA V combines traditional open-world exploration with a large collection of missions and side activities. Players can switch between Michael, Franklin and Trevor during much of the single-player campaign.
Each protagonist has a unique special ability. These abilities can be particularly useful during missions and combat, while the game’s driving and shooting systems provide the foundation for much of the action.
Outside the main story, players can participate in activities such as racing, sports, flying, hunting, property management and exploration.

Heists are one of the defining features of GTA V’s single-player story. Instead of simply completing straightforward missions, players often have to plan major robberies and make decisions about how they will be carried out.
Some heists allow players to choose between different approaches, select crew members and influence how the operation unfolds. These missions provide some of the game’s biggest action sequences.
GTA Online
GTA Online expands the Grand Theft Auto V experience into a persistent multiplayer world. Players create their own characters and can participate in missions, races, heists, businesses and other online activities.

Vehicles are central to GTA V. The game features a wide range of cars, motorcycles, boats, aircraft and specialized vehicles.
