GTA Online Agency Solo Guide: What to Buy First
The Agency gives solo GTA Online players access to Security Contracts, Payphone Hits, and the Dr. Dre VIP Contract. It also offers optional conveniences such as an Armory and a Vehicle Workshop.
The property’s value depends on using its activities regularly. Buying every upgrade immediately is unnecessary if your main goal is unlocking the work.
How to buy an Agency
Use the in-game Dynasty 8 Executive website to review Agency properties. Compare the price, road access, and distance from the areas where you usually play. The different locations provide access to the same core Agency work.
Keep a cash reserve after purchase for ammunition, armor, and future investments. Interior decoration does not replace the money needed to run your normal playing routine.
Which upgrades should you prioritize?
| Purchase | Purpose | Suggested priority |
|---|---|---|
| Base Agency | Unlock the property and its core work. | First |
| Armory | Convenient weapon and equipment services. | Useful if you visit frequently |
| Vehicle Workshop | Access supported Imani Tech modifications. | When you own a compatible vehicle |
| Accommodation | Convenient property use and spawn options. | Preference-based |
| Decorative options | Change the interior appearance. | After income priorities |
The Vehicle Workshop does not make every car compatible with Imani Tech. Check the specific vehicle before purchasing upgrades for that purpose.
Start with Security Contracts
Use the Agency computer and complete available Security Contracts to learn the activities and progress the introduction. Job types include asset recovery, rescue, and protection work.
Choose an assignment you can complete reliably. On a solo run, protecting an objective or escorting a client can require a different approach from simply clearing enemies. Read the mission’s failure conditions before rushing in.
Unlock Payphone Hits
Agency owners who complete three Security Contracts become eligible for Franklin’s Payphone Hits. Watch for the introduction and follow the instructions for requesting or answering a hit.
Read the special assassination instructions before attacking the target. These conditions determine the bonus, so finishing quickly with the wrong method can reduce the value of the job.
Progress the Dr. Dre VIP Contract
Follow Franklin’s introductory sequence and the VIP Contract objectives as they unlock. The storyline involves investigating stolen music and completing a series of missions, rather than instantly launching only the final job.
The Agency’s central contract content supports solo play. However, separate Short Trips missions are co-op content; do not assume that every activity introduced alongside The Contract can be played alone.
Build a manageable solo routine
- Check available Agency work and choose a suitable contract.
- Complete a Payphone Hit when available, following the bonus method.
- Progress the VIP storyline when you have time for a longer mission sequence.
- Check the Agency safe during property visits.
- Use downtime to manage another business rather than waiting beside the computer.
Compare current payouts in your game. Weekly promotions and economy changes can make older fixed-income estimates inaccurate. Calculate earnings across the full activity, including preparation and travel.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use an Agency without the Armory?
Yes. The Armory is a convenience upgrade, not the purchase that unlocks the core contracts.
Is the most expensive location required?
No. Choose a location based on access and budget.
Should I buy the Vehicle Workshop first?
It is useful when you have a compatible vehicle and want its supported modifications. Otherwise, start with the base property and learn the work.
