Crossplay and account linking are different

If one friend owns a PC and another owns a console, buying the game from a different PC store will not bridge that gap. Choose a supported shared platform or select another game with the crossplay arrangement your group needs.
Do not confuse migration with multiplayer access
Migration moves eligible progress under specific rules. It is not a method for joining a different platform’s session. Treat progress transfer and playing together as two separate questions when planning a purchase.
